The Price To Pay

Alone I am, but nevermore lonely.
For company the choice is mine to make.
My thoughts are friends, and always free to be,
In nightly dreams and even when awake.

As thoughts take form, my fingers take to flight
Across the keys creating simple rhyme.
And so it goes from day until the night,
Alone I sit, my laptop keeping time.

At night my thoughts take on a different form
Subconsciously my mind is free to dream.
Come morning yet another poem is born
Poetic minds ne'er really sleep it seems.

And so I choose to be alone all day
And company, my friends, the price to pay.

Look Into My Eyes

Look into my eyes
and know
I love you.
Listen to your heart

and know.
The truth is that I love you.
Listen to your heart
and never leave my side.

The truth is that I love you;
the moment I first saw you I knew
I'd never leave your side.
I said, "I'll love you forever";

the moment I first saw you.   I knew
I loved you.
I said, "I love you.  Forever
look into my eyes."

If I Cry

If I cry tonight,
will you dry my tears?

If I cry tonight,
will you know my fears?

If I cry tonight,
will you ease my pain?

If I cry tonight,
will you know my shame?

Will you be there?
Will you even care?

When I cry tonight.

Do you Remember Me?

Do you remember me?
I'm not who I used to be.

I used to have a lot to say.
I used to sing, night and day.
I used to talk.  I used to sing.
That was when you were listening.

Do you remember me?
I'm not who I used to be.

I used to sit quietly
and watch the world go by.
I used to wait patiently
and never once ask why.
I used to watch.  I used to wait.
That was when I had no faith.

Do you remember me?
I'm not who I used to be.

Now I am ten feet tall
and pain is not my friend.
Now I say what I mean
and know who I am.

Do you remember me?
I will not be who I used to be!
